I am beside myself with joy over going to Crop tonight. Believe it or not, Cleveland is one of the country's top dining cities and Crop is absolutely world class.

It's house in an old bank building. The main dining room is no less than breathtaking.

Here is a slideshow chronicling the construction of Crop.

If I'm ever in Cleveland, I'm going to the Crop. I love the re use of old buildings, especially old beautiful buildings. I'd gladly pay 50 or 60 bucks for a nice piece of red meat and a glass of house merlot. Hell Yeah!

Happy Anniversary! Good for you for celebrating big.
Looks like a classy joint for a classy dame and her Goat.
Please give us postprandial details.

Okay, I will have to check this place out. And as to the day, you are way ahead of me. Except for the walk, I've been lazing around like the day will last forever . . .

I love these sunny fall days in Ohio before the deep freeze hits.

All that's well and good, but what's any of it got to do with the photo of the angry-looking woman with long braids standing in front of a poster written in what appears to be the Cyrillic alphabet?

Wow...the menu over at Crop Bistro is killing me! I'll have *all* the appetizers...to start. Then throw a dart at the menu to decide what to have next. Everything sounds amazing!

Cheers to your anniversary!!

Thanks, twinks and Joe, the Goat and I are celebrating 19 years.

Nin and DDP: I had the rack of lamb. It was so sublime, that despite the fact I was sitting in the most elegant dining room in the city at 8 pm on a Saturday night, I picked up the bones from my plate and chewed off every last bit of buttery fat and rich meat. GOOD CHRIST!

Kirk: I see you're coming close to unlocking the mysterious working of my inner mind.

Phil, I did not. Opted for a tawny port instead with some sort of deconstructed desert decadance called the "Pretzel Un-logic."

chocolate cream, pretzel crust, malted whipped cream, pretzel tuile

Cropped indeed.

And Joe? Lay off the eggnog this early in the morning--or at least wait until xmas eve.

Mmmm...decadent food. I do believe it is perfectly good manners to chew on the bone of a rack of lamb.

Also, according to Martha Stewart, it is perfectly acceptable to eat asparagus with your fingers.

There are some things that just cannot be had any other way!
