Phone cam round-up, gray edition

I'll have a shot of Tide with a bleach chaser, please.

Behold the newest annex to the Offices of Erin O'Brien.

Gee, I wonder what what mysteries we'll uncover there!

 Dot in walk.

Will do.

Have you seen my Cheshire cat?

 Don't eat my foot, dude!

He's sort of hot in that guy-drawn-on-the-side-of-a-truck way.

Found can.

I'll have mine on the rocks ...

... with a splash of lymon.

Pretty, pretty girl.

This cannot be a good omen.

Dude, I found your groceries.

Is this where you send all recalcitrant employees for a "time out"?

Jeez, alph, thanks for dropping in. I thought the readership had abandoned me!

I hadn't thought of sending anyone out there for discipline, but I suppose it could work. Maybe I should send the Goat out there, but I wouldn't want him going idle. I guess I could give him some binoculars and a steno pad.

Maybe it's that damn word verification. It was 3 times before what I typed matched what they thought was on the screen. Send your entire WV department out to the bad chair; they can keep the Goat company.

Erin-where is the rail car in the last photo?

If memory serves, I think that was in Kent, Ohio, MR.

The railroad cars across from Ray's in Kent: probably a dozen times I staggered out of Ray's or Mother's and seriously contemplated breaking into one so I could crash and not drive home. It is astonishing to me that I never got a DUI in Kent. I've only been in Kent after dark a handful of times since I finished in '86. Too dangerous...

@MR-

You a Kent State alum? I've been bitching about "Abraham and Isaac", the sculpture by George Segal commemorating the massacre, being at PRINCETON on this here blog for years and I can't get one you guys to throw a hissy fit and get the administration down there to bring it home. It was considered "too controversial" for placement on campus.. A travesty.

RJ-

Kent and Kent State University are embedded in me a little bit.

My late father was duty dispatcher for the KSU police department on May 4, 1970. The initial reports of the shootings were "2 Students, 2 Guard Dead". We didn't hear from him for 72 hours.
We camped for the summers of '71-'72 next to Patrolman Harold Rice, who read the dispersal order to the protesters before the Guard stepped off. Harold and my Dad never talked shop.
About a quarter mile from my high-school home was the home of Jerry Rupe, one of the "Kent State 25" students indicted for riot.
Around the corner from the Rupe residence was the home of National Guardsman Lawrence Schaeffer, who most probably fired the round that blew off Jeffreyy Miller's face.
Mr Schaeffer is currently either a city councilman or the Mayor of Ravenna, Ohio, where I graduated from high school.

Too much?

Holy Smokes. I'd say it's more than a little embedded. Sorry for your suffering. It's always too much in a situation like that.

Still seems unfortunate that a commissioned work of art is in New Jersey.

As an aside...these "small world" events keep happening to me. In a totally random situation recently I found myself talking to a Chilean National who was imprisoned and tortured for 6 years under Pinochet. Unbelievable.

Peace.

RJ-thanks for your comment. The word "suffering" never occurred to me. It's just a confluence of events. With that background, however I tend to have stronger opinions about May 4 than more casual observers might.
