Blowin' in the wind

Yes, this odd-looking structure sits atop Progressive Field, where the Cleveland Indians are not having the best of seasons, but there are some quiet wins within.

Hop on over to Fresh Water to find out about the giant whirligig and a few other tidbits that will give you reason to cheer the home team.

And one more thing: how cool was it to get a private tour of the park from it's tippy-tippy top to its deepest bowels? Um ... very!

I love my job.

Hiya Erin-

I wondered about that thing all season until recently when somebody explained its wind-power purpose. I think it's a brilliant combination of form and function. And I wish I had one in my backyard. Of course, Mrs MR wants a pet penguin every time she sees a penguin on TV, so I guess we'll both have to go unfulfilled in these particular circumstances.

Thanks to God for fulfillments elsewhere.

Only visited the stadium once, two years after it went up. I didn't think there was a bad seat in the house. Great ballpark.

Hey MR: maybe you can find a penguin who will build a wind turbine.

It is a great park, John. But this years team? Ughville.
