Life is not black and wite. There are some liberals who hold to some conservative positions. Some conservatives are more liberal than others. There are conservatives who have no issues with abortion or gay rights, for instance.
We all have ideas on the role of Government. Hard core libertarians are against the Federal Highway system, for instance. If I like the idea of interstates, does that make me a hypocrite?
Unless one is a complete anarchist, we all agree there is a need for some level of Government, it is a question of degree.
Clearly maternity leave is way more important to a woman or couples starting a family than it is to me, an old fart with kids pretty much grown.
To make my long-winded (as usual) point, I am not sure one inconsistancy really makes one a total hypocrite.
... but the problem is with this inconsistency, as demonstrated by Mr. Stewart in this clip and reiterated by Mr. Carlin, is that when things don't apply to you, it is okay to be against something. The moment it does, then up goes the hands and the wailing about the 'unfairness' of it all and how 'there out to be a law' begins.
Anywho, it does seem that the Faux network cultivates and 'grows' blondes for its entertainment programming (just cause they claim its 'news' doesn't make it so). Wonder what they use to fertilize the soil and if it is available for sale..?

Never underestimate the power of motivated reasoning. Another current example: the extension of the payroll tax cut, currently opposed by Republicans in congress. WAIT!!! WHAT??!! Republicans AGAINST a tax cut? Heaven forfend!! Dogs and cats lying down together!!! But the problem with this tax cut is who is FOR it-the President.
@Joe-if you view the clip, Ms. Kelly has railed against similar programs or policies over and over and over again-yeah, she's a hypocrite.

I just never understood how people can have a physical "type." It just does not compute to me. Physical attributes fade very very quickly for me if the individual behind them doesn't measure up.
Stewart articulated my point better in the vid when he takes a shot at the Fox viewers with his riff on the look-alikes Fox had stand in for Kelly during her absence. How idiotic is that? I know, guys, we'll just find someone who looks just like Kelly, plop her in front of the camera, and no one will be the wiser!
The method/concept apparently worked with (ahem) a certain retired Army guy.

@ Erin: Fox (and most other media outlets) aren't stupid. They know that putting a good looking dude or dudette on TV is going to attract viewers who otherwise wouldn't tune in if someone less attractive was doing the commentary. This is especially applicable to women. I know this isn't necessarily fair, but it is the way it is. I mean, how do you explain Wilma Smith being on TV all these years? She is/was (I don't really know anymore as I don't live in Cleveland) an attractive woman, and I'm sure that has had something to do with it, at least with her longevity. Denise Dufala (whom I went to both high school and college with, BTW), I suspect, falls into this same rubric. Remember John Hambrick? As I recall, back in the day women went nuts for the guy.
As for the women on Fox, there is no denying that Megyn Kelly, Martha MacCallum, Margaret Hoover, Liz Wiehl, etc. are very attractive women. Just about every other female Fox anchor/commentator is attractive as well. CNN has some very good looking women anchors/commentators too. Again, I don't think this is by accident.
Take a look at this site http://www.gogomag.com/talkingheads/index.php. I did a google search for Fox News female anchors/commentators, and this came up. I looked through the photos of CNN, ABC, Fox News and NBC/MSNBC female anchors/commentators. In my book, Fox News has the most attractive female personnel. Then again, my opinion, of course, is subjective. You be the judge.

P.S. I don't watch Fox News for the chicks only. I look at that aspect as a bonus. And yes, I tune in to CNN, MSNBC (mainly for comic relief), etc. too. @ Mike: I really didn't know her all that well in high school, so I can't comment on that moniker. I ran into her at Ohio State when we were both taking a History class (History 400, to be exact). As I recall, she wasn't doing too well in that particular class, and once came over to my apartment so I could help her out with it (I was a history major, and no, nothing else happened). Also, when we were in high school we'd put on these concerts at the junior high school, and one year she was one of the singers. It's been a very long time, so I can't remember whether she was good or not.
