On Murdoch

Journalist Carl Bernstein at about the 31 minute mark of the 7/13/11 edition of Warren Olney's To the Point:
The enormity of what has happened here is what we really want to look at--and that is that a culture established--encouraged--by the most powerful media baron of the last 75 years in the English speaking world has now been shown to have gangrenous apparat that's basic to the body and that has infected the whole institution--to some extent--because it heads toward the top.

Has Bob Woodward weighed in?

@Sausage Fingers--I think Murdoch resembles J. Jonah Jameson more than he does Peter Parker.

Apparat is a German electronic musician living in Berlin and one of the owners of Shitkatapult records. Didn't know about the gangrene.

Mr.Murdoch and his apparatchic have made the most reprehensible breach of journalistic ethics that I have ever seen.

100% fucking SHAMEful. Oh, wait. Shame implies the presence of conscience at some level.

Bill said...

Yeah. It's pretty bad and shameful and sleazy. But, to me, making up stories and calling them news and/or using what someone else wrote and calling it your own, is a worse transgression for a news organization. I like that Murdoch met privately with the family of the 13 year old and didn't boast about it.

They do that, too!

Liberal hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Where is the outrage over Operation Fast and Furious? Where the ATF let drug runners and gang bangers buy high powered weapons which ended up killing Americans?

This is going to be our illigetimate president's Watergate for Cripe's sake!

Liberal hypocrisy never fails to amaze me.

Dear Oregano-
It must be liberating to say/type anything one wishes without regard for veracity or relevance. When I grow up I wanna be just like you.
