Random pics from outing on January afternoon with Goat

Dog driving car.

In your entire life you will know no joy equal to that of pointing to a pile of unspeakable brown gristle in a butcher case and uttering the words "Gimme a pound of your smoked neck," to a man in a bloody white apron.

Looking two days beyond the Ides of March.

Your humble hostess's greatest temptation: salty European licorice.

Steve's Gyros.

Goat eating gyro of Steve.

COOL new Penzeys Spice store in beautiful old bank building.

The second naked goat I saw today (no comment on the first).

Life. Is. Good.

Although I was not aware that one could purchase leprechaun meat at the West Side Market, I am not surprised.

I consider getting something to nosh on and a coffee, then going up the steps to sit on the mezzanine and people watch a mandatory CLE rite of passage.

The cheese is frightening. And so is today's verification word. I should probably go back to bed now.

Gotta love the Market! (OK, except that one time when our van was stolen from outside, but you can't have everything.)

The new Penzeys store is on the Southwest corner of Lorain and 25th. GO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! It's just too cool.

Of course we were on the balcony, Phil, but you already knew that.

Howdy Kaboom and Tara ...

I see naked goat is next to drunken goat. That explains everything.

A few things ...

Erin is right, Penzey's rocks. I've been using their stuff exclusively for years. I'm just glad they have one in Raleigh now - I don't have to wait to visit Ohio (Columus usually, during my annual trek for an Ohio State game) or order online anymore.

I see the "naked goat" and the "drunken goat" in the pictures here. The naked goat is described as "full and creamy with a tangy finish," while the drunken goat is "mild and rich with a sweet and spicy finish." So, humble hostess, which is it? Is The Goat "full and creamy?" "Mild and rich?" Or does he have a "sweet and spicy finish?" Inquiring minds want to know ... ;-) Maybe he should weigh in on this ... ;-)

People, people, people.

Seems I've already done enough kissin' and tellin'. You'll have to use your imagination to fill in the details.

erf!

Oh Erin, my imagination is always in one gutter or another. It's such a happy gutter for me. :)

The domestic goat (Capra aegagrus hircus) is a subspecies of goat domesticated from the wild goat of southwest Asia and Eastern Europe. The goat is a member of the Bovidae family and is closely related to the sheep as both are in the goat-antelope subfamily Caprinae. There are over three hundred distinct breeds of goat.

Goats are one of the oldest domesticated species. Goats have been used for their milk, meat, hair, and skins over much of the world. In the twentieth century they also gained in popularity as pets.

Female goats are referred to as does or nannies, intact males as bucks or billies; their offspring are kids. Note that many goat breeders prefer the terms "buck" and "doe" to "billy" and "nanny". Castrated males are wethers. Goat meat from younger animals is called kid or cabrito, and from older animals is sometimes called chevon, or in some areas “mutton”.

Lazy tonight but I wanted to post so I stole from wikipedia. Kinda like having a tv dinner.

I, also, was going to comment that Naked Goat was placed next to Drunken Goat, and wonder at the significance of that.

Also, I note that Naked Goat (I should use their formatting: NAKED GOAT) is more expensive than DRUNKEN GOAT. Does this signify that lust is, ultimately, a heavier and headier and costlier sin than gluttony?*

* I note that, if I were making up the sins, I'd break gluttony down into two categories, gluttony and besottedness (besotteny?) - the sin of clouding your reason and your senses with intoxicants. That would boost the list to 8, but I'd remove lust, because lust isn't a sin, it's normal. So that would leave just 7.
