As a fellow Merchant Mariner and former deckhand on the boats I've puzzled over a fitting tribute to those who went down with the Fitz.

GBNF, Godspeed.

Thanks for the reminder Erin.
I didn't realize so many were of the crew were from Ohio.
Was Eugene O'Brien a relation, by any chance?
That song and this date always makes me heavy of heart.
AQnd I'm glad ye posted it; our hearts need the heavy as a 'minder.
Not a clevelander, in fact I have been accused of being a hater of the land of the burning river. But I must say that song always gets to me- love it.
Oh geez, this is stunning. Chilling.
My heart goes out to those folks who have crushingly dangerous jobs that put them in the worst of situations, and the families and loved ones who deal with the aftermath.
I never even knew the wreck had been located. Thanks for posting, Erin.
