Writer Erin O'Brien comments on all things human.
Voted! And keeping fingers crossed! And praying! And trying to conjure up all good juju!Maybe I'll even light a candle too.We have to win!!!! We will win!!!
I hold my thumbs for Barak Obama. The USA has now a chance to prove one thing to the world, that all humans are equal, regardless of the color of their skin. Go USA!
Got up at 5:45am to vote, and filled in the little oval for Obama! Now to quietly panic for the next 12 hours or so...
So you're saying, "Just dont' write-in Jefferson Davis"?I never got a complete answer on Todd's Alaska secession party alleged leanings. What was up with that??
I guess since Todd isn't running for anything it is kind of a useless path.
Oh, I dunno. Mrs. Obama's patriotism was widely questioned after one inarticulate moment. Seems significantly less questionable than being married to a guy who has expressed interest in leaving the Union. And didn't she do some video promo for them as well? Now, it isn't that big a deal, given that these types of movements tends to be fringe and go no where. But in all fairness, it's as reasonable an inquiry as many of the others directed at all the candidates, and their spouses. Frankly, spouses/family should be off-limits, unless there are VERY good reasons to have them involved.Nonetheless, the point may be moot in short order. At least, for the next 4 years. However, 2012 is evidently a different question. Better believe we'll hear much more about it if she runs then.Go vote.
As a proud son of the south it is a cruel historical irony that has linked ole Jeff Davis and Sarah Palin.RJ
Um? Hoose? You sure seemed worried about Mr. Aryes he's not running for anything either. And, not like I know for sure or anything, but I doubt Obama and Aryes swapped a lot of spit.
Good thoughts for Obama!
I don't think Todd blew up any Government buildings either. What the Heck, it will be over, except the lawsuits and the crying and he cheated crap in just a few hours. Then we will all have to live with it, no matter what.HB
Regardless who wins, we all have much work to do. Changes are needed no matter what.
I want a Democratic victory so sweeping that Karl Rove is rendered impotent.I say this not because I think Obama will be such a good president. Rather, I say this because Bush has been so bad, and his supporters and his party have smeared and smeared and told lies and half-truths to get where they are. And not the usual political lies, either, where you distort an opponent's record or misrepresent his position or lie about your own intentions, but vile, character-assasinating lies about people like John Kerry. About Barack Obama. Disgusting rumours that hint broadly at the unplayed race card: Obama 'Hussein'. He's really a Muslim. He wasn't born here. He lived overseas for a long time. He's associated with terrorists. All code-language for 'he is alien', 'other'. All code language for 'he is not one of us'.For this reason, I am hoping for a crushing Obama victory, a bone-breaking refutation of these tactics. I don't think I'll get them, but that's what I'm hoping for.
Man, it's true--the old fat rich white guys sure hate the thought of giving up any power or money. They'll do anything. Now I'll go out on a limb: I don't think we'll see a counting fight tonight. I think the fat lady is going to sing and that will be that.
Miss O'B, we'll be live-blogging again tonight so please feel welcome to join in the party. Everyone is welcome if the internet holds up.7pm ESTThe Savvy, The Extreme & The Idealist
Um, Would ya take back that "blowjob thing" if McCain wins ? Just curious.
WOW, is that a hoosierboy sighting in today's comment row???Having done my civic duty as I type, here's hoping the proverbial friggin' planets have all lined up by tomorrow morning by sunrise!
That's probably the best partisan sentiment I've read about the whole election. I'm reading it after the election, but I find it reassuring that McCain has said basically the same thing. Classy, smart, and needed. I just heard the quarterly reports from GM and Ford. Looking like a bad time will be had by all.
