Imagine having a president who is even -tempered and smart and gracious . . .
If this was fiction I'd say it wasn't plausible and put the book back on the shelf and write a nasty note to the author. Of course, this is the same team that brought us Sarah. The only defense I can think of on their behalf is they just think we are complete fucking idiots, because if we're not, then they are.
McCain couldn't even bring himself to LOOK at Obama. McCain is a complete and total ass. Should Obama disagree for the sake of disagreeing? Even a broken clock is right twice a day...I think Obama was acknowledging that, nothing more. And yes, I'm quite ready to have him as my leader.

palin for vp...ads announcing a debate win that hadn't even taken place...ads that make no sense whatsoever...the mccain peeples have officially lost their marbles.

Well, I think the ad de-dorses Obama. And I think McCain is more of a woman than Obama, so I'll vote for McCain, 'Cause I like women. Ha. Hey, do you have another book in the works?
It's pretty incredible when recognition of agreement and respect for the adversary, however demented and confused he may seem, are seen as weakness.
But is McCain more of a woman than Palin?
Obama really is trying to bring some civility back, I think.
And he has another problem. On some fronts, McCain is unassailable. McCain's courage and strength are beyond question, his military record rendered untouchable by his years in prison. Obama can never treat that with even the slightest disrespect.
I hope for a long tail, where McCain may seem to win the debates by dint of his ability to attack without boundaries, but that on reflection, people will look back and ask themselves who looked and acted more like a statesman? Who is most likely to be able to repair America's badly damaged reputation with the rest of the world?
That's my hope, anyway.
McCain's strength and..."courage" (and I put that in quotes because courage is subjective) doesn't give him card blanche to be a complete asshole with a bad temper. Not when he's running for president. In fact, I'd venture to say that NOTHING has taught this man an iota of humility and respect. Not even being beaten like a fucking dog in a cage. That, to me, indicates a lack of critical thinking. Someone ought to have this old fart watch "The Deer Hunter" or read "All Quiet on the Western Front" and maybe he can begin to learn some important humane lessons from warfare and captivity. In my opinion, someone like him is a grave liability to guiding a powerful country such as the U.S.
