Hi Lakewood Library
I grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, which is the first suburb west of Cleveland. I had an opportunity to stop by the newly remodeled Lakewood Public Library not long ago and I was very happy to see my book in the stacks next to my brother John's novels Leaving Las Vegas, Stripper Lessens and The Assault on Tony's. I was even happier to see that my book was worn and dog-eared.
Thanks, Lakewood Public Library.
As happenstance would have it, I will be the keynote speaker for the inaugural meeting of the Literary Creativity and Invention Club at Lakewood Public Library's Main Branch , 15425 Detroit Avenue, at at 7 p.m. on April 1. I'll be talking about writing in general and how how everyday life fuels my Rainy Day Woman column. This event is free.
Hope to see some of you there!

Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn! I'm on call that week! If I go to the West Side I have to get cootie shots. Also, we're giving it back to the Indians to get rid of Dennis.
I saw my book at Borders for 75% off!!! Hey, that really made my day.
I have class and a poetry reading that night! What's the Literary Creativity and Invention Club?
If I lived there, I'd be there. My nipples are hard.
Growing up that was my library too. Corner of Mars and Detroit, across the street from Bob's Big Boy and Drug Mart, just up the street from Melody Lane Records. It was about a 20 minute walk from my house, less than 10 minutes by bike. Still remember the way it smelled. My first encounter with William S. Burroughs occurred only because his books were filed next to Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan novels. I thought, what's this weird book called 'Naked Lunch'? Congrats on getting in there. You deserve it.
My copy of your book is in between Chekov and Henry Rollins. You know you like it! :)
