Star light, star bright

Okay, whatever the eff you're doing tonight take an effing break (wake up, put the drink down, walk away from the computer, leave that poor girl alone for a minute) sometime between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EST and go view the Perseid meteor showers, which are at their peak tonight. The best way to do it is to lay on your back and just stare into the sky. I am no expert, but the farther you get from light pollution, the better. The stars will be falling at a rate of 20 to 40 per hour. The time frame might be different where you live.

Here is one thing I know for sure. When you see one--a tiny light zipping through the sky, for that moment, you will believe in magic.

I promise.

Living so close to the lake, looking out over the lake, most of the meteor showers are very visible. Thank you, Erin. It'll be at it's peak between third and fourth quarter of the Packers/Chargers game.

O'brien: when I start chanting 'Shower! Shower!' you'll know I'm talking about the Perseids. Really.

Too bad its totally cloudy over here :(

Unfortunately, the Moon is just a couple of days past full, and it washes out most of the meteors. The best time to watch a meteor shower is after local midnight (literally, halfway between dusk and dawn) and by then the Moon is up and glaring.

The sky over Paris is grey and starless tonight.
Not solely because you are not here.

(The thing about English men is that we are romantic AND pretentious.)

We had a flip-assin' Rocket Scientist in our hizzle last night. He was getting his jollies by TRYING to teach my beginner's algebra.
(I am a mathematical DUNCE!)
We attempted to see your stars, doll-no street lamps, it woulda been ideal. But the effing clouds.
I think I might illegally download some Vanilla Ice. Burn it onto a CD and mail it to a PO Box in Ohio
