June Cleaver- I'd hit it.

Anyway...Sidebar of sorts...true story. Client in the office today the rare Democrat in my geographic region. Apparently had received some grief from his more conservative relations. Says "You know I told them that when I was standing at the Pearly Gates I didn't expect Jesus to refuse me entrance because I had raised taxes on the rich."

Amen.

Jesus kicked the tax collectors out of the temple. I know he also kicked out the money lenders but the tax collector part better fits my agenda.

At least you're consistently full of shit "Bill."

"And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all of them who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
—Matthew 21:12-13

You guys crack me up! Bad mojo? I'm sure someone up there is taking note of the defenders of the King James version. Thanks for all you do. LMAO!

Hey Bill,

1. Please provide a reference to the source material, in Hebrew and Greek if you prefer, in which Jesus throws tax collectors out of the temple.

2. Since your previous comment seems to also imply that a case can be made by selective use of Bible passages to support ANY position please make the case, using the words attributed to Jesus in scripture (again, original source material) that the accumulation of material possessions is a godly pursuit.

Bill-
People on the end of the political spectrum that you infest don't have any monopoly on faith or devotion. They do seem to have more than their share of hypocrisy.

And tell me, did you really laugh your ass off while you were typing "LMAO"?

I'm sorry you want to make a pissing contest out of this. I have no idea what the translation is on this bible story. I remember it as a kid and didn't bother to actually look up the chapter and verse. This is the way most conversations go. I'm not a very religious person but was, as were a lot of kids when I was growing up, forced to go to church and Sunday school. I go to a Catholic church once in a while because I like to hear Father Larry preach. I don't quite get why you are so obsessed with my comments. They're just comments as in a conversation. I had stopped laughing prior to typing so I guess the "LMAO" was a little fib? But, it's true that you do crack me up. Honestly, it makes no difference to me what you think or what you say but, I enjoy conversations and will continue to spout off here as long as the humble hostess allows. Oh, yeah, I promise never to wish anyone dead here on the Owner's Manual.

@Bill-

This is no pissing contest. This a matter of FACT. You made an assertion. You can not support it. This is your history in this forum. You offer nothing but shit. You have been tested. You are found wanting. You have nothing but a computer and an internet connection. NOTHING MORE.

After spending years perverting bible passages to fit their hateful agenda, they get mad because of a paraphrase!

More Tea-GOPers saying do what I say not as I do!

Here's what I said:
"Jesus kicked the tax collectors out of the temple. I know he also kicked out the money lenders but the tax collector part better fits my agenda."
I was attempting humor in replying the to comment about the "rare democrat".
Besides, isn't it St. Peter who checks your credentials at the gates of heaven? No. I didn' source that, either but I'm sure one of you has the original transcript.

@Bill-
You're fucking arguing with yourself. You're the one that raised the source issue by questioning the veracity of the King James version. You know if you just babel incoherently all the time you may have something like Tourette's. A trip to a neurologist might be in order.
