Who is this man blocking out the sun?

I like him. I like him a lot.

Hello there Miss Erin. I'm just leaving you a comment on this post as opposed to sending you an email. I do not want to start a Left / Right argument. No I don't. not my style. I know you lean further Left than I do. I have no problem with that. I'm in the middle, but you should go see "2016". I'm serious, go see it, it's only 90 minutes, and it's more, how should I say, a documentary, than anything else. I don't care whether I'm right or wrong. Go see it, and then you tell me where they're off base. There is a lot of disillusion with American politics as of late. I would like for you to explain that to me from your perspective. I mean that. I really do. Do you truly believe you and yours will prosper more under Socialism than Capitalism? I would love to have this discussion with you or your commenters.

I'm not a bad guy, I'm fair, I'm just curious...tell me what is so wrong with people who lean a little more right than you. I'm serious, I would really like to know.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with people who lean more right than me. I've said it dozens of times: I really miss the good conservatives.

As for where 2016 is off base, ask Los Angeles Times film critic Betsy Sharkey:

Mostly (the film) is D'Souza connecting the dots; there are no opposing points of view.

In weighing "2016's" documentary credentials, one scene that resurfaces many times in the film is instructive. Shot at the grave of Obama's father, the scene shows a close-up of a hand grasping some dirt and reverently dropping it onto the burial site. The hand is an actor's, not Obama's.

The moment is merely another piece of heavy-handed drama conjured up by the filmmakers — nothing more, nothing less.

Um ... think I'll pass on this one.

@Yabu, 2016 will definitely convince some real independents to vote R but you're smoking something if you think it can convince a committed liberal to abandon Obama.

Yabu, if you think there's anything socialist about Mr Obama and/or his programs you're either a)Not Paying Close Enough Attention To The Dow Jones Industrial Average Or Corporate Profit Statements or b)Incapable Of Understanding The Meaning Of "Socialism".

You know Miss Erin, I'm a Southern Man. I am who I am. I still hold the doors open for woman, if you know what I mean. I treat everyone with respect. I am who I am.

I'm not going to respond to your commenters on this post. Nothing personal. I just want to make sure we're clear on that. I will not use your blog to respond to nonsense. If someone wants to come see me, they have my address. I love a good debate, but not in somebody else's yard.

So be it!

Yabu, let me get this straight: you get a few completely articulate and polite responses and you pick up your ball and go home.

Huh?

@Jobu: You can't post that the Vice-President is an 'idiot', the entire Occupy movement consists of 'ignorant dirtbags'or refer to the President as "Obama and his mob" and still claim to be "in the middle".

You're a winger.

Thanks for playing. Carol Merrill has your Rice-A-Roni for you on your way out the door.

MR

PS-Of course you neglected to get any phone-cam pics to back up your story about Occupy, as was the case the last time you came in here with your bullshit stories, right? And in what community did you find an Occupy camp these days?

@ Erin-You were quite right to use the word 'ball' in the singular in this instance. Certainly, "balls" doesn't apply.

The two whitest guilty white men in America won't show the minority speakers at the RNC. Oh, they would be Chris Mathews and Lawrence O'donnel.

Network skips Ted Cruz, Mia Love and Artur Davis speeches

Off topic I know. I forgot, Erin, who you tweeted was the whitest man in America but these two definitely have to be in the top three. I'm sort of pigment deprived too, though.

I have missed reading your stuff Erin... and catching up on the comments... first, I thought anything with "dis"-Souza would be left to the fringes... his quackery is right up there with Keith Ablow's...

Your new profile picture is amazing! If you weren't already taken..!
