Cheap Bubbles

All this week, Edward Champion will be posting a round-table discussion about Ellen Ruppel Shell's new book Cheap: The High Cost of Discount Culture. Your humble authoress was a member of the panel. You can read my musings as well as a host of others over at Ed's place. If you've read the book or have comments on the comments, you're welcome to gas on about it here or over in Ed's comment section.

If you don't care about any of that, then watch this film of Ed's that I just love, Bubbles: A Consideration because bubbles are free and as evidenced by this effort, they make people happy:

This is beautiful. The music was wonderful. I'm smiling all day and all night...

Sitting at my desk after a killer morning, feeling like I just got a mini-vacation. Delightful!

The bubbles themselves may be free, but not the soap that it takes to make them.

Knowing I can get an awesome "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" T-shirt like dude is wearing makes me happy. 3XL, maybe 4XL.

I had a salad today, it was disconcerting at first, but I didn't get the late afternoon carnivore crash. Fascinating.

@Kirk Jusko;

May be the closest definition of existentialism I've ever read.

i love this. and i love Ed's shirt, as well. a few days ago, they had a bubble battle in Toronto at Queen and University streets. they have an annual pillow fight there as well. i am in Toronto until the 14th, so it seemed appropriate to send this, documenting the aforementioned bubble battle: http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/09/07/12/
