Show of hands, please

How many of you bring your kids along on business trips on the company dime?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

oh wait, you were serious, weren't you? Hmmmmmm, let me think...nooooooooo, Sarah's the first person I've ever heard of doing that. Of course, she's also the first person I ever heard of who got to go shopping at...whose expense was it again? At N-M and Saks? This inquiring mind would like to know.

Sorry, I cannot raise my hand on that one and I doubt Hannity enjoys receiving oral sex either. I just discovered your delightfully entertaining blog and willl be returning to see more!

Kick that bitch in the shins. And, it would seem that the Leadership conference was, like, TOTALLY lost on Bristol. I say we put Palin in a Moos suit and let her loose on the frozen tundra on hunting day.

"Moose"....d'oh!

New story out just this morning (Today Show & Huff. Post) that the GOP spent 150K of campaign $$ on her designer suits, new frames, etc. etc. And GOP members are LIVID. Also during same piece by Mitchell NBC reporting she's become a HUGE liability now, even worse than Bush. Slowly, this is all unraveling. McCain is losing support among the old grumpies...now polls showing he's down by 10 or 11% from 6 last week. Keep hammering that awesome strategy of mudslinging; this just indicates how obtuse his handlers are. In the face of losing numbers daily, and they don't change anything...down into the toilet with everyone! Keep at it. Good campaign management, wouldn't you say? The days of Atwater and Rove politics are done. The Internet is dispelling all the shite, almost instantaneously. Huffington herself had a great column on how the web is working against McCain's smears. HERE: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/the-internet-and-the-deat_b_136400.html

On the issue of clothes, seems this has been going on forever. Remember how pissed everyone was over Nancy Reagan's wardrobe?

At least Palin's clothes budget was on the RNP's dime, even if it's members are seeing red over it. I think it's sort of funny. $150K isn't all that much and after all, babies, trophy wives need fancy duds.

They got their money's worth. She does look spectacular while Michelle and her $150 dress look all that much more like the voter.

The thing with the family travel probably isn't all that big of an issue, but start piling this on top of Troopergate and Pretty Palin starts looking more and more like a cigar-chewing old-boy politician.

Silly little broad.

I'll take 'things normal people would expect to be fired over (if they're lucky)' for $1000, Erin! The thing about the travel, apart from the piling-on, is that the attempt to edit the terms of the trips after the fact could be seen as evidence of intent to commit of federal income tax fraud -- the tax-law bloggers are in agreement that the Palins' tax returns incorrectly treated those reimbursements, which generally have to be treated as taxable income, and a question is whether the error was an innocent mistake -- and/or defraud the Alaskan taxpayer more directly. I think Palin's career after 11/4 would be 'interesting' were there much of a reason beyond piling on to care at that point.

Also, a good point I saw on one of the big blogs was that the $ blown on the RNC's shopping spree might mean a lot to an endangered Republican Congressdroid. So spend, baby, spend!

Palin is a "bitch" and denigrating remarks about her daughter (who is not running for any office)?

Seems some of that old hate speech goes on over here too.

We can't control our commenters, and I would not expect you to.

Yeah, let's give Palin a break on this one; her shopping at Needless Markup in Minneapolis may cost Michelle Bachmann her House seat.

Yes, HB, Julia used some strong language that might be offensive to some, but she's a white chick and Palin's a white chick and so to me, it amounts to picking on someone your own size. That is to say: Fair fight. Carry on.

There is (of course) TONS more I could write on this, but I've got too much other shit to do right now!

For those who are interested, the backstory for all of this can be found in the comment section over here.

I sure hope that miserable Bachmann broad ends up out on her beauteous ass after all of this.

She is so vile to me. GRRRR!

I admit to salivating over the following non-news-non-issue item related to Palin's clothing expenditures:

"Hey, Joey baby? How much green you spend a year on those cute plumber work jumpers? How much that Ohio State sweatshirt put you back?"

What's a business trip? Is that LSD for the very serious? If it is...I'm sure SP could benefit from a little run around with the Merry Pranksters. She could become the head clown!

According to press reports the clothes were always intended to be donated to charity.
Trickle down economics come to Goodwill.
