Can you smell that?

As I said a couple of posts ago, I'm at work on a Palin piece.

And man is it weird. You can't find any reliable information on this broad. It's like chasing a ghost. Links lead to error/page removed messages. Vids and pages quoted in reliable sources have disappeared.

People talk about what she stands for, but good luck finding Palin speaking for herself.

Plenty of smoke and mirrors courtesy of the wingnuts and McCain, but when you start to look deeper, the whole thing stinks to high hell. Something is very, very very wrong here.

I've been all over Huffington, that's what I'm talking about. That "Iraq is God's will" post for instance, the reference link no longer has the vid.

The baby daddy MySpace page is gone.

I guess that stuff is predictable enough, but there's tons of other places that quoted her for the gubernatorial race that lead to dead links or else you get this canned stuff.

It's really really strange.

Here's the church talk:

Andrew Sullivan's blog is a gold mine of Palin stuff.

What I'm talking about is different.

Try, for instance, to find a reputable discourse or direct quote in which Palin gives specifics on her "pro-contraception" stance. All you get is canned crap.

This is all you will find:

Palin said last month that no woman should have to choose between her career, education and her child. She is pro-contraception and said she's a member of a pro-woman but anti-abortion group called Feminists for Life.

"I believe in the strength and the power of women, and the potential of every human life," she said.

So? Is she talking about the rhythm method or the morning after pill? All you get is a steaming pile of shit no matter how you dig.

And I know the church vid is out there, but the original church site that posted it has been scrubbed clean, replaced with canned republican crap.

The anchorage paper has some stuff, but it's a mother fucker to find it.

Helen, you know what I'm talking about. The REAL Sarah Palin is nowhere to be found.

No solid reliable in-depth interviews or non-biased profiles.

Fuck us all to hell if this broad gets into the White House.

I don't know how to do this gracefully, but go to this site:
http://frostyheidiandfrank.com/main.asp

Click on: Newton's Cradle

When the window opens up, click on: View Archive.

Currently, picture 3 is Palin in a stars and stripes bikini holding a rifle. Picture 2 is a montage of her daughter drinking with guns.

They add different pictures everyday to this website, so you might have to click through the archive a bit to get to these, but that's what's up there now.

Entertaining, no?

Wow

Dog, if you go to Huffington Post, they are admitting the bikini photo is a PhotoShop hoax. But, still damn funny.

My husband and I are certain, there HAVE to be some nude photos of her out there some place.

Latest rumor out of the National Inquirer is that Palin had an affair with one of her husband's business partners.

You're getting closer to the core than you think, Erin. Palin, like her lipstick and bulldog reference, is nothing but tactics...pure marketing strategy.

Buyer beware.

Erin,

Check out this guy. Long time Republican "spooked" just like the rest of us.

Well, good luck and godspeed--I can't believe the choice we have this year.

For some reason, an $8-an-hour teller at Bank of America has to undergo more scrutiny to get HER job than someone who is going to be Commander-in-Chief of a $425-billion-per-year killing machine called the US DOD. Or, more correctly, a heartbeat away from an old guy who has had serious, recent health problems. It's a coin-flip whether this lady is Commander-in-Chief; if only for half the term. Ask any life insurance underwriter...

And I am talking about BOTH sides of the ticket; as far as the inadequate scrutiny.

The choice this year is totally inadequate--neither side has undergone adequate scrutiny. In fairness, research Biden's 1987 plagiarized speech where he made up whole significant elements of his life. Unbelievable. Borderline sociopathic.

And it's between these two parties.

I just hope there are enough checks & balances in place so the country can survive.

We have survived untested individuals--for instance, Truman, an untested product of a city organized crime machine, whom FDR didn't tell SHIT even though he knew he was sick--and survived before, I guess.

But I wonder if we have just gotten lucky...

Dogsdontpurr: The bikini photo was faked, and the one of Bristol drinking probably was too, though I've seen nothing about that on Snopes.

Still, as long as Bristol isn't playing a leading role in campaigning for McCain and her mom, she should be off limits.

Which leads to another completely unsolicited editorial comment: There is plenty of reason to oppose and dislike Palin without having to make them up (the most ridiculous attempt being the story about Trig really being Bristol's baby, but Sarah pretended to be pregnant to cover it up. C'mon now! That's something Heather Webber would have pulled on General Hospital!

Hi Erin,
If you have a link that no longer works, you can go to the Wayback Machine, here:

http://www.archive.org/index.php

The Internet Archive has everything archived going way back. So even if a link is currently 'dead,' you can put it into the Wayback Machine, and see what *was* there.

You're welcome.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Admittedly, I'm Canadian, so I don't have a vested interest here, and I haven't done a lot of reading, but this is what I said to Dean yesterday:

Reading between the lines - because I haven't read anything, anywhere, that echoes my own feelings - I think she might be a religious whackjob on the scale of the sharia law types who are stoning women in the middle east.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the first female president of the united states turned the country into a religious hell for women? (yeah, I know she's only running for veep, but if she really is running with the far right wingnut agenda, I don't think a little political assassination would stand in their way)
