Wow.

Knowing a bit about Kitt's history makes this even more poignant. Any idea when this was recorded?

I do not, but I'm guessing 1980-ish. It is a very difficult to find recording.

Yeah, from the guy's clothing at the end of the set, and from Kitt's general age (although she always looked younger than she was, at least to me) I'd have guessed around 1980.

Funny how Celine Dion and Eric Carmen belt the song as if their gonads were in a vice and it's just more background noise, yet a middle-aged black woman with an odd voice half-sings, half-talks and it is remarkable.

I don't know much about Eartha Kitt. I will say if this were on a record I probably wouldn't buy it, but that's just me, and to each his/her own.

Wow! What a way to begin a Monday morning. Breathtaking. Thanks Erin!
