Nice pics, Erin. Do you know where the circa 1947 pic was taken?

Thanks, John. Mom says both were taken at the Doubler cottage, "The Canada Place," which was in Buckingham, Quebec, northeast of Ottawa.

Cool, Erin. I hope you've had an opportunity to visit "The Canada Place." If not, you missed out. Thanks for asking your Mom.

Is Homeland Security aware The O'Briens have been consorting with the French-Canadians?

And it seems the lake upon which we consorted was Lac La Blanche.

"The White Lake". A well known euphemism for "Let's bring Canadian Socialism to America." The George Washington Bridge pales in comparison.

I know, as a guy, I'm supposed to love fishin'...and I enjoyed it a little when I was a kid. Then I realized it was really just sittin and drinking beer. So I cut out the wet and wormy parts.

Greetings and salutations.

-On this date in 1971 the Tate-La Bianca murder verdicts were handed down.
-On the 26th of January, 1500, the explorer Pinzon 'discovered' what is now Brazil*.

-RJ,I thought all of Quebec was pour les blanche back then...

-I see what you did there...'white' and then 'pales'? Please tell me that was intentional...

-sorry, I left out the meaning of the *asterisk* I referred to above-the missing jump was meant to read 'Of course, for the several million human beings living in the Amazon basin in 1500, the existence of the Amazon basin came as no surprise...
