Yes. Add my voice to the elder cacophony of torment heaped on Lil O'B..."Why back in the day I was lucky to have shoes much less my own import auto." Ingrates. (As my 15 year old lustily eyes his Xterra.)
That 'You're damned lucky' speech is hard to avoid, isn't it?
I'm really happy to report that I haven't really had to use it.
My boy Michael is in Columbus for school. He was very dependent on public transportation for his job as well as school and it looked very like they were facing a serious strike situation last year we were able to lend him a car for the duration (which wasn't long.) Not long after that we had an option to give him one of the cars on a permanent basis.
"Permanent", as it tuned out, was the approximately 7 weeks between the time we paid off the note and the car suffered a catastrophic break down. Buh Bye.
Enter my in-laws.
Tenacious. Relentless. Determined. Think Tony McAuliffe and George Patton at Bastogne. Think Frank Shorter in Munich, Ali in Zaire, and Indians 9, Jays 8 on June 4, 1995.
They don't rest.
They scored a BEAUTIFUL car for his birthday, just mint, so we split the cost and gave it to him on his birthday. I think I never have been more grateful for and proud of four human beings as I was that day. Mike, the Innies, and my charming child bride.
So every now and then I give him a little 'lucky kid' zinger, but he earned it. And I'm the lucky one.

Good lookin' automobile there, TurboErin.
Ha! I think she's a tad bit quicker than her driver, but we'll find a proper compromise eventually.
Nice !

I had been anticipating this for awhile. I take it Lil O'B inherited the Mini?

Thanks, JOG, she is one hot wagon.
Hi RJ. Yes, Lil' OB is zipping around town in the Cooper, whilst enduring the not-so-occasional lecture regarding how lucky she is to be doing so.

Erin, I'm pleased to see you've put yourself in that car finally.
yeah, the turbo's nice, but the Bug has pinstripes and snow tires on all 4 corners. Badass.
Nice car. But I have to ask .... does it have a Hemi? ;-)
