I spent the '80s stoned a lot too. How else could we live with the music?

You had a Dorothy Hamel?

Hi gang.

Do I save everything? No. I get rid of things I need the next day.

A Hamill Camel? You tell me.

JEZZUS!...I listened to 1:32 of that song and found myself rummaging through the medicine cabinet for contraband. Shit. I got nuthin. Lucky for me I went over to twinkly's place and found Lucinda Williams doing Return of the Grievous Angel. I need to visit there more often.

This post title has caused "When I was Young" by the Animals to play in my head closed loop for a couple days now. A great example of Ravi Shankar's influence, in this case the sitar created by electric violin and guitar. This would have been our anthem if not for "My Generation". Watch Entwhistle on that bass. Saw the Who do it live August 31st, 1967 at Public Auditorium. Pandemonium.

I had forgotten what a great year 1967 was for music, particularly for kids like me that were too young to go overseas. The cars kicked ass, too.

So as I posted this, I thought, "Am I just a geezer going on about when music was good, dagnabbit?"

Nope. Kicked ass.
